MANILA, Philippines - Beauty doctor Vicki Belo refuted reports saying that she bought the much-talked about wedding gown of Regine Velasquez for 30,000 dollars or 1.6 million pesos.
“Ang totoong-totoong presyo, ipapakita ko sa inyo ang bill, kasi you know I don’t like what’s been happening. It’s only 8,000 dollars. Of course it’s still not cheap. But it’s very far from the 30,000 dollars na sinasabi nila,” Vicki clarified in an interview aired on “The Buzz” last Sept. 26.
Regine and Vicki flew to Los Angeles, California a few weeks back to order the wedding gown from renowned Filipina designer Monique Lhuillier. And unlike other brides-to-be, Regine revealed in previous interviews that she would not be wearing a white gown. The gown is said to be Dra. Belo’s wedding gift to Regine.
In a separate interview on “The Buzz,” Regine said she doesn’t have any idea about how much the gown costs.
“Kasi nga gift nga ‘yon eh, so I think I’m not supposed to know,” she said, laughing.
Although Regine and long-time partner Ogie Alcasid refuse to divulge more details on their upcoming wedding (rumored to be in December of this year), the Songbird did dish out that it will be a beach wedding.
Regine also excitedly related that Michelle van Eimeren, Ogie’s ex-wife, has a lot of plans already for the flower arrangements.
She is grateful for their friends who have been offering to shoulder some of their expenses for the wedding.
“Maraming salamat sa gesture. The thought counts, ika nga,” said Regine. “Siguro alam din nila kasi ‘yung feeling ko na matagal ko ring hinintay so everybody is just really happy for me.”
For the reception, Regine said a party would be enough. However, “si Ogie kinakarir niya kasi feeling ko ito ‘yung ibibigay niya sa’king dream wedding.”
The groom-to-be related that he is enjoying the preparations for their wedding because he wants it to be memorable.
“Mapapansin niyo naman sa aking mukha na maaliwalas ako. It’s a very special occasion and it’s gonna be a happy day. Eto na ko eh. Eto na ang buhay ko.
